Calzaghe 'trots' through to the next round

Joe Calzaghe made it through to the next round of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing after his Foxtrot performance on Saturday night.

Whilst initially left tied on 20 points with Jo Wood prior to the public vote, Calzaghe was told by head judge Len Goodman it was his “best dance yet” and Goodman also said Calzaghe "had improved and is more confident.” Fellow Judge Alesha Dixon also told Calzaghe that he “had a glint in his eye and looked like he really enjoyed it.”

Calzaghe continues his training this week ahead of his next dance, and said he continues to enjoy the experience.

Speaking on Monday prior to training, Calzaghe said: "I really enjoyed dancing the Foxtrot and felt it was my best dance yet. I am very glad to still be in the competition and remain determined to do well and to continue to improve. I am also extremely grateful and humbled by the incredible public support I have been receiving and hope everybody is enjoying the journey like I am.”

Joe Calzaghe and his dance partner Kristina Rihanoff will be performing their next individual dance this Saturday starting from 7:00pm on BBC One.
