Nathan Cleverly's promoter, Frank Warren is looking at dates in June for a super fight against Carl Froch with the Cardiff City Stadium the preferred choice of venue. Warren commented:
“I would love to put him in with Carl Froch in June... and we are talking with the Cardiff City people about using the stadium there.
“The people of Wales need to see Nathan while they can, because in a year you will need to get on an aeroplane to see him.
“Carl Froch fought Ward and he got found out. He should come and fight Nathan. I would take that fight in a heartbeat, we’ll do it in June. If Carl Froch wants it we will forget all the others as that would be a great fight.”
When asked his thoughts Cleverly said: “Why not, I’d fancy fighting Carl Froch, he’s mentioned me before and it would be made for the public with two British guys.”
Warren added: “We had some fabulous nights in Wales over the last 20 years, particularly with Joe Calzaghe, and I think it’s going to be really good for Welsh boxing, Joe is the best fighter I ever promoted and Nathan is following his act. He can be around for a long, long time.”
